This help in increasing their iq as well as interpretative skills which leads to development of approache and ideas which not only help then in academics but also elaborate their understanding of the subject with great depths and who know when we might get an easier way to do things which were initially thought to be always approached in one single way.

On negative or drawback section, it more likely to harm their followers and they wont be getting the correct way to approach things or they might end up understanding a different and fuzzy things.
