Question
I have answered everything except for the last question:
These graphical displays represent a different impression. what qualitative description would you apply to these data on the basis of the stem and leaf plot and the second histogram? why is it different? what's going on?
Explanation / Answer
Stem-and-Leaf Display
N = 33
Leaf Unit = 100
15 1 122333333444444
(12) 1 555666677999
6 2 000233
From the first and second histograms, we observe that as the class width is 500 the distribution looks like symmetric, where as for the second it looks like assymetric(positively skewed), sinccce it is stretched towards right. where as in stem-and-leaf with leaf size 100, it looks like looks like assymetric(positively skewed), sinccce it is stretched towards right. if it symmetric mean=median=mode, where as for positively skewed distribution mean>median>mode.
