Is Drug Court diversion program effective in decreasing the recidivisms of offenders and is the percentage rehabilitated high enough to consider Drug Court a viable answer to positive change in the quality of life? The problem with offenders using narcotics is a national problem, as well as a social problem, and it affects societies all over the country. States have stepped into initiate Drug Court diversion programs to rehabilitate offenders, change their quality of life, and reduce recidivism among juvenile offenders. The gap found in the research on Drug Court being successful is the effectiveness of the program and using the correct variables to prove the validity of the program. The other problem which needs to be the focal point of the research is proving that cognitive behavior therapy is a better program for offenders to go through and yields less recidivism. The purpose of the research on Cognitive Behavior Therapy vs. Drug Court Diversion problems is determine the effectiveness of Cognitive behavior, Consequently, the Drug Court Programs have a lot of controversy over the effectiveness of the program for all individuals that would meet the requirements for assistance. The Gap in the research is the lack of research on cognitive behavior therapy being a better source for drug addiction, then Drug Court and which program reflects the best overall results from treatment.
