(d) what is the angle between r and the positive z axis? (e) what is the component of d 1 along the direction of d 2 (f) what is the component of d 1 that is perpendicular to the direction of d 2 and in the plane of d 1 and d 2 (a) Number Units (b) Number Units (c) Number Units (d) Number Units (e) Number Units (f) Number Units the tolerance is +/-2% olicy l G 2000-2017 lohn Wiley & Sons, Inc. Explanation / Answer

Here, for the vector r

r = d1 - d2 + d3

r = (2.5 i + 9.1j - 7.5k) - (-1 + 2 j + 3k) + (4 i + 3j + 2k)

r = 7.5 i + 10.1 j - 8.5 k

a) i component = 7.5

b) j component = 10.1

c) k component = -8.5

d) angle between r and z axis = arccos(z/r)

angle between r and z axis = arcos(-8.5/sqrt(7.5^2 + 10.1^2 + 8.5^2))

angle between r and z axis = 124 degree

the angle between r and z axis is 124 degree
