Introduction: Genetic engineering have advanced with modern technology, with modern genetic studies and research today we can manipulate the entire genome of humans and have desired characters. Though this might be more costlier but with this technique we can avoid most of the dreadful genetic disease.
Most of the parents are going for genetic engineering for their babies when there are in the mother’s womb itself with genetic manipulating most of the gens are altered for the best removing the diseases and defected genes and these techniques are giving good results with babies with desired characters and traits which are exceptional.
The process involves injection of genome of desired character using CRISPR technology at the same time of fusion of sperm and egg making it completely natural process. The process in done in vitro condition where egg and sperm cells are allowed with strip of desired genes and characters using the CRISPR 9 enzymes which cleaved the DNA strands at the desired location and inserts the given genes.
Description: The process of having genetic engineering is the most advanced method for the disease treatment which gives an opportunity to identify the disease and term if before it develops. It gives an edge of treating world most deadliest diseases. With the process the expenditure on the health care would be drastically reduced and this money can be spend on other things for development. We can have perfect health babies with all the required features and traits. These techniques can be used to develop to build super humans with muscle strength who can be used in warfare or security purpose.
While the procedure seem to be easier and happier but more of the ethical concerns are involved in it . Most scientist believed that thought the process was developed in the back 90’s but still is under implementation or most of the scientist are hesitant to implement on the ground level. Manipulating the genes of human might create ethical problems or serious concerns which are not hood for human evolution in the long term.
Being the costliest medical process it enable the richer parents or families to opt for the genetic engineering with designer babies with desired characters and no genetic health concerns. But it may pose threat to the human evolution as richer people afford the treatment and can have designer babies and with no genetic diseases compared to the naturally born babies with no genetic treatment chances are their hat these designer babies have an edge over the naturally born babies and can excel in their regular life compared to the non genetically modified babies most of the employers or people would prefer to hire the genetically perfect babies seeing their medial history compared to the normal person. There would be no point of evolution the healthier person will live off and the normal person will soon be wipe of out to the world leaving no evolution.
And the characters are predefined and selected there would be point of heritable characters from ancestors or parents as most of the characters will characterized with genetic engineering. There would be no resemblance between parents and children’s they won’t might be like their parent or may not even have any characters of their parents. A sense of low esteem might be developed in the normal person or children’s when compared to the genetic modified babies or children’s.
Conclusion: Thought the process is good but more of the ethic are involved in it the process will be beneficial to the person with money. The employers will interested to hire with the person with genetic disorder like in case of heart disease will be rejected for a healthier as their genetic history is known. With designer babies people would opt for good characters like color, behavior, body structure and type which can create a racism gap between humans.
In my view genetic engineering should be used for the development of animal traits were we can obtained good quality of milk, meat and wool which can be beneficial for human purposes and have commercial value rather though we have advanced in developing the designer babies but still we have think of the ethical and social concern associated with it and most of famous personalities in today world are of without any genetic engineering human brains don’t require any genetic modification to excel. If genetic medications were done on the Bill gates then we would not have such master of computer.
