Question
You see a woman student standing near the dean's office, stopping all black students to ask them questions. She says that she is collecting student opinions about parking for students on campus. What is the most correct statement about this sampling method? This is not sampling at all. The method is bad because of the location of survey. The method is bad because the choice of respondents is based. This type of sampling is generally good. The method is not good because it is a convenience sample. The sampling method is quite good for this question.Explanation / Answer
Answer
Here first of all I should mention that a convenience sampling is a technique where the samples are selected due to convenience of selection. So here if staanding near the dean's office if that student choose any of the coming student or each of them then it would be a convenience sampling. And it is not as good since it is a non probability sampling technique and hence a very probably biased one.
But beside that the student is only choosing the black students which is not convenient sampling. rather than we can say it is a bad technique due to choice of respondents which is biased.
So we can say the method is bad because the choice of respondents is biased.
Hence the answer...........
Thank you........
