type I (false positive) errors or type II (false negative) errors. Can you think of an example of where you may want to try harder to avoid one type or another? Can you think of a policy; political, economic, social, or otherwise, that pushes people toward avoiding one type or another? What are the repercussions of such policies?

One example that comes to mind is in health especially when it comes to testing for disease and drug testing. When it comes to Tuberculin skin test, someone can get a false positive due a skin test, which can be affect by scent soap or cologne/perfume. Someone also could get a false negative if they decide to alter the test by putting ice on the affected area. The second time a type I and II can occurred is in drug testing depending on the food or substance taking before the test it can result in false positive and false negative.

Explanation / Answer

A false negative result occurs during pregnancy test, where the test on being done too early reports to be non-pregnant, but can be altered by waiting for the right time (minimum right time) to take the test.
