Exercise Question 3 Alex enters into a.contract with Betty to provide her with 5 tonnes of barley every month for 12 months at fixed price $5000/tonne. He sent this agreement to Betty on 1st Jan 2014 and on the 6th Jan Betty received the contract. She added her name, address, changed the number of month from 12 to 13, signed the contract and forwarded it back to Alex on the 7th Jan. Alex received the amended document on the 8th Jan and without reading or signing it, place it to his filing cabinet.

Yes there is a contract. As Alex already started to sell Betty.

The date Alex received the signex copy and did not reply anything to Betty the contract started. And as he started delivery on 15 of January 2014 so it means actual date of contract is this. So 15 jan 2014 is the contract date.
