Of those customers who do not live in Texas, three-quarters have not filed claims for storm damage in the last year. Of those customers who have filed claims for storm damage in the last year, three-fifths live in Texas. Calculate the percentage of customers that do not live in Texas and that have filed a claim for storm damage in the last year. 12 16 24 36 48.

Explanation / Answer

Suppose A,B,C,D and E are the number of customers who filed a claim for storm damage in the last year

so total claim=12+16+24+36+48=136

from the gathered information we can say that of those customers who have fied claims for storm damage in the last year, three-fifthe live in Texas,

claimed customer who lives in texas=136*(3/5)= 82

claimed customer who do not lives in texas=136-82=54

% of claimed customer who do not lives in texas=(54/136)*100= 39.705 %

The percentage of customers that do not live in Texas and that have filed a claim for storm damage in hte last year are 39.705%.
