PROJECT PROPOSAL TOPIC: HOW MANAGERS CAN EVLUATE EMPLOYEES
My chosen topic for this proposal project is the following; what are the most important measures of performance: How managers evaluate employees. I am a Business Management student, and this topic relates to my field of study because effective employee evaluation is what makes for real and happy workers. My last place of employment lacked this quality within management; it always seemed liked the negative was pointed out and never forgotten.
I would like to analyze the effect of positive feedback versus no feedback towards employees. My staff would be evaluated monthly, ones employed for over a year, annual evaluations will take place. I find this topic important because employees who are valued in a way were all positive achievement are highlighted before the mistakes are pointed out. Praise employees and tell them how great they are performing. Negative feedback won't be taken quite as bad as employees would without receiving some recognition. I want to be the type of manager that is respected and give the same back to my employees, treating and evaluating their work performance based on much more than just their errors and mistakes.
I will obtain the information via online research and surveys. I will consider managers and their style of management and how they evaluate their employees. I would like to know what time frames others use, how often should employees be evaluated. Every manager operates differently but what matters most is fair and honest employee evaluation between manager and employee.
I am going to list the difference between both approaches to and at the end showcase the better version of the two. Some may still beg to differ than one approach is better than another, but either way, this proposal will show which one of these employee evaluations is the best version to go with. Active managers should always continue to want to learn and expand their horizon beyond what they think they know and are used to using.
Explanation / Answer
Manager can evaluate employees in many ways. One of the best methods as per my study is by applying scientific method, namely INDUCTION & DEDUCTION. Induction starts from scientific observations to broader generalisations whereas deduction moves from the general to specific.Discussion of critical elements with the employees is again needed.
