Question

In my Statistics/Quantitative Analysis of Business class, I am doing my first Comprehensive Problem. The first part of this problem requires me to determine whether the measures in each spreadsheet are categorical, ordinal, interval, or ratio. I must also prepare a report summarizing the characteristics of the metrics used in each worksheet in a table. In this Comprehensive Problem, I have to go through 22 different spreadsheets.

Here is the question verbatim: Elizabeth Burke has recently joined the PLE management team to oversee production operations. She has reviewed the types of data that the company collects and has assigned you the responsibility to be her chief analyst in the coming weeks. To prepare for this task, determine whether the measures in each spreadsheet are categorical, ordinal, interval, or ratio. Prepare a report summarizing in a table the characteristics of the metrics used in each worksheet.

Explanation / Answer

The best way to do is to write a macro in VBA for each spread sheet.

The table can be as follows:

Spreadsheet 1 :

Meansure 1 Categorcal

Measure 2 Ratio

Measure 3 Interval

Spreadsheet 2

Measure 1 Interval

and so on.

In this way you will have 22 sub headings for each spreaddsheet and a summary of measures describing their type in each rows. Hence the total number of rows will be in the final report will be equal to the total number of measures in all the 22 spreradsheets
