A field experiment was conducted to test whether inter-specific competitive effects between an exotic tree species (Australian Pine) and a native tropical tree species (Gumbo-Limbo) are effected by elevation. So, an inter-specific competition treatment (labeled "Inter" in data) consisting of an exotic tree planted next to a native tree was established at each of 5 randomly chosen locations at each of three elevations (0m, 300m, 500m); 15 separate locations in all.
