the table 2.9 shows the couples with 3 different hieght categories, where there are just 205 observation if you look closely you can notice that each column sums up to the number of wife in each category in table 2.10 top row while each row sums up to number of men in table 2.10 bottom row.
table 2.10 shows the number of wife and husbands with 3 different hieght categories i.e. the top row (wife) sums up to 205 and so does the bottom one.
