The hypothesis are:
Null hypothesis: Men and women have equal interest in sports
Alternate hypothesis: Men have more interest in sports as compared to women

Answer to question# 3)
We can take two groups : one of males and one of females.
Then we can record there answer for the question: Are they interested in sports: They can rate their interest from 1 to 10 ,where 10 indicates the highest level and 1 indicates the lowest level
There after the average all the ratings for each group can be taken
Say we got mean rate for men as M1 and mean rate for women as M2
Now the null hypothesis would be : M1 = M2
And altenrate hypothesis would be : M1 > M2

Answer to question number 4)
The test is necessary as it helps to understand the market in sports field. If men are more interested then promotion of porducts related to sports can be men oriented. And products can be designed and sold accordingly
