Compute the difference in the average birthweight of babies of indigenous and non-indigenous mothers (called the birthweight difference, for simplicity). Discuss fully if there is any discrepancy between the regression coefficient of Status obtained in the regression model and the birthweight difference. (Have included both weights and regression model! Thanks in advance for the help and time. Please explain in as much detail as possible so I can gain a better understanding!)

Explanation / Answer

Since the p - value in the ANOVA is less than 0.05, there exist atleast one independent variable , that has a signifcant effect on the difference of birth waight.

If we observe coefficient table, p - value of intercept, Gestation, Smoker, Height, is less than 0.05. So these variables have significant effect on the weight difference.

So the model shall be

Weight difference = -1682.01+10.18*Gestation - 240.87*Smoker +14.09*Height
