Question
A part bin is full of a part that was purchased from 3 different suppliers, S1, S2 and S3 that supplied 45%, 30% and 25%, respectively, of the part. Based on past experience, it is known that 3%, 4% and 5% of the products made by each supplier, respectively, are defective. Suppose one is pulled from the bin randomly. What is the probability that it is defective? Each coded part in a part numbering system is made up of 4 distinct non zero digits. How many ways can a part be numbered starting with a even number and ending with a "9"?Explanation / Answer
Dear student, please post one question at a time.
Solution of 10:
For first digit, we have 4 choices.. 2,4,6, and 8.
For second and third digits, we have 9 choices (1 to 9).
For fourth digit, we only have one choice (9).
Hence by rule of multiplication,
total number of choices = 4 * 9 * 9 * 1 = 324
