He wants you to analyze the operations of both divisions and propos e a method for stream lining the organization and fixing the problem. This analysis should address the possibility of combining the voice and data communication responsibilities under a single manager. You may propose an y reorganization that seems appropriate. Be sure to consider econ omies of scale when submitting any recommendations. President Coone reminds you that you were a staunch advocate of video com ferea cing. He wants you to inc lu de video and image transmission con siderations in your analysis u should also consider the type of in dividual that shou ld manage th is reorganization. Some of factors to evaluate are the traits and characteristics needed for successful leadership. the bility to understand current systems, the ability to handle both data and voice networks, and the ability to analyze and manage fu ture growth. The results of th is evaluation will help determine whether such an individual exists with in NDAS or whether the firm needs to hire someone from outs ide the organiza tion. Another litle problem occurred last week when NDAS experienced its first network line ta ilure. ident Coone had to ask Karen Lott to determine what failed on the circu it. After fiddling with roblem for an hour and a half, she finaly called the server vendor, who then took 3 hours e Tampa headquarters building. The good news is that the vendor's main tenance get t employce swapped a new network card into the server and had it fixed in 15 m in utes. Communication is the key to success for every business, and due to the creative differences of two departments ( Information service/data processing division and Human resources Division) NDAS' communication is facing some serious problems. One can try to make two departments/ division to work together, but the best solution to this problem is to give all the responsibility of communication to one department/ dovidivi.

In my opinion that department/division should be the Information service/data processing division. The most common reason of not choosing the Human resources Division is that the Human resources Division's primary task is to manage the Human resources of the business not to handle communication department, in the case of NDAS Human resources divison set up the telephone system because at that time no one else was interested in doing that. But there are many other factors too which are based on the "communication management" that favers the Information service/ data processing division, but for that first we have to know some things about the communication management and the responsibility that are exercised by both the departments.

Communication is neither the transmission of a message nor the message itself. It is the mutual exchange of understanding, originating with the receiver. Communication is the essence of management. The basic functions of management ( planning, organizing, staffing, directing and controlling) cannot be performed well without effective communication. Business communication involves constant flow of information. Feedback is integral part of business communication.

Initially Human resources Division did set up the telephone system and provide the most basic type of communication medium but it is the Information service/ data processing device who is exercising the those telephone system for the business and that is there main function and not only that Information service/data processing division is also handling other problems related to the communication department from both sides ( business' side as well as customers' side)

And there are other modes of communication that needs to be delt with for example video calling and circulation of other information through apropriappr modes of communication. Information services/data processing division is more suited for this and Human resources Division should mainly focus on there main task.
