Job Analysis: Succeeding in school is a complicated, demanding “job”.  For this exercise, you are going to prove this point by going through a brief and succinct job analysis. Your task is to analyze the job of “College Student” - This job is quite pervasive and there are many thousands of incumbents, however, for this exercise, you can just use yourself as the one and only incumbent.  Using yourself as the sample (it’s small but ok for this exercise) do the following:

Develop four or five primary tasks that you perform in this “job” and that are essential to be a successful student.

Develop four - seven KSAO’s that are required in order to perform the essential tasks you identified.

Using the final list of KSAO’s, propose in general terms, a method to test for them that could result in a valid predictor of “job” performance. (Your test can be creative and fun, it doesn’t have to be exact or practical)

In today’s competitive environment an individual needs to be skilled while performing multifaceted activities in a well-organized, cost-efficient and secured manner. Training regarded as a performance development instrument indeed is required when people are not performing up to a predetermined set standard.

Thus the dissimilarity enumerated from the actual level of performance from an individual against the desired level of performance signifies the need for training furthermore the recognition and acknowledgement of training requirements is the foremost significant step towards a standardized method of instructional design.

Thus it’s noteworthy to develop a task model, enumerating the decision positions and desired level of information needed to take cohesive decisions which are indeed targeted towards attaining the desired level of performance which are in fact required to accomplish the prescribed targets more effectively and efficiently.

Furthermore the prescribed model should illustrate with a schematic or graphic representation of the set activities to be attained which indeed needs to be developed after examining and discussing it with individuals thus the overall intention should be towards enumerating a representation that can be used to conduct the development of the training and study programs.

However the training program should be based on specific predetermined tasks where an individual is expected to be at ease while exerting their effort in the set prescribed training program. Furthermore it’s very significant and crucial to accumulate information on how the actual task is performed so that it can indeed be used to formulate a model for the prescribed desired task to be accomplished.

However it’s fruitful to have a standardized approach towards selecting correct appraisal and evaluation techniques for your requirements whereas a checklist can indeed facilitate to develop a precise process towards the development of specific skills, knowledge and abilities towards the attainment of the prescribed set objectives.
