Question

Assume a sample mean of 42.6 with a standard deviation of 6.4, answer the following questions: a. What is the z score for the raw score of 51? b. What is the raw score for the z-score of 1.78 Using a Normal Distribution Table (or z table), determine the Percentile Ranks that correspond to the following score values (X): (X): (mu = 71, sigma = 10) a.) 51 b.) 58 c.) 75 d.) 72 e.) 84 f.) 97 Determine the proportion of cases falling under the normal curve in the following circumstances: a.) Between z = -1 and z = +1 b) Between z = 5 and z = 1.5 c.) Up to and including z = -.75 d) To the left of z = -1.96 plus to the right of z = +1.96 e.) Between z = -2.57 and of z = 1.75

Explanation / Answer

Your first question is absolutely Correct :-)

Question2.

Finding the percentile rank for a given Z-score..

We have to use Z table for that. You have calculated Z now we have to compute percentile rank mean probability.

a.z=0.2 so P(Z<0.2)=0.57926

b.z=-1.3 so p(Z<-1.3)=0.0968

c.z=0.4 so P(Z<0.4)=0.6554

d.z=0.1 so P(Z<0.1)=0.5398

Note: In excel Finding the percentile rank for a given Z-score we can use . =NORMSDIST(Z)

Please post remaining part again.

Thanks and God Bless you.
