PLEASE HELP ME OUT WITH THIS QUESTION. BE DETAILED WITH RESPECT TO THE WORK SHOWN

4. (12 points) Dr. Smith conducted an experiment for two sections of his course Introduction to Instructional System. He wants to test whether new directed instructional activities in the classroom will help graduate students improve their ability in organizational analysis. A total of 18 Students in one section of the course participated in these activities during the one-semester course. The other control classroom of 15 students followed the same curriculum without the activities. At the end of the course, each student obtained a total analysis score, which was the weighted average score of four papers written during the semester. The SPSS output from analyzing these data is shown below (4 points) Look at Levene's test for the equality of the variances in Table 5 and the boxplots in Figure 1. Is it reasonable to assume that the variances are the same for both groups in the study? a. b. (4 points) Write the null hypothesis that is being tested, in both symbols and words (4 points) From Table 5b below, what are the correct values of the t-statistic, degrees of freedom and p-value? Write an interpretation of the results of this test in APA style c.

Explanation / Answer

(a) Here the levene's test informs that the the F test is not significant here as F - value is less than F critical value. As the test tells that the variance of the two population are not different so we shall take assupation of two population from equal variances. SImilarly, Box plots of these two population shows equal length that also tells us that we can assume variance are also equal.

(b) Null Hypothesis :H0 : The average total analysis course, which was weighted average score of four papers during the semester is equl for students who take new directed instructional activities in classrom and those who didn't take the these activities in classroom. 1 = 2

(c) Here we go for equal variance t - test for two sample mean

t = 2.450

Degree of freedom dF = 31

p -value = 0.020

so we can reject the null hypothesis at 0.05 signifiance level and we can conclude that The average total analysis course, which was weighted average score of four papers during the semester is different for students who take new directed instructional activities in classrom and those who didn't take the these activities in classroom.
