Starbucks limited uses social media strategy very effectively to its advantage. Its fan following on each of the media tools runs in Millions of fan followers which is the evidence of its success. The main tools used are facebook, twitter, youtube, google+, Instagram an Pinterest.
These tools are used to connect to the audience in most engaging ways, like apprising them with the latest in line coffee related recipes, accompaniments, social initiatives, new poducts, global happenings and so on through a number of videos on youtube, or breathtaking and innovative photographs shared on pinterest and Instagram that are hard to miss and always prompt the viewer to grab a coffee at the first opportunity. Through twitter, it brings forth many moods and pieces of incidents from real life that are hard to miss and the same sense of connectivity to the world while having a coffee.
The organisation uses these tools to create and disseminate the new ideas, innovative pictures from real life and the incidents building fans' affection towards the coffee and the greater social interactions involved with it, all this to increase the fan following and building a cult.
Opportunities for improvement include more focus on the social initiatives for betterment of communities in its campaigns, inclusion of broad selection of demographies and refraining from controversial topics like racism.
