For each of the following data visualization goals, propose and describe in detail the chart, graph, or other form of data visualization you would use to present it on a dashboard. Explain the reasons for your design choices.

(a) Compare the relative proportions of customer purchases made with cash, credit cards, and debit cards.
(b) Show monthly progress toward a goal of reducing defective product returns to less than 2% of purchases by the end of the current year.
(c) Show the number of pizza delivery orders placed in each neighborhood of a city to plan more efficient delivery routes.

Explanation / Answer

a) For relative roportions of customer purcahse made wth cash, credit cards and debit card it is important to see what proportion of your expenditure is made from which form.

So a pie chart which will depicts the whole expense and the three protion of them will be depicted by cash card and debit card.

b) To show the progress of the monthly trend it is important that the portion is shown ina trend line with a target line also in the chart. this will help the person in knowing how is the month on month trend for the defectie rate and what is the gap between the actual value and teh target.

c) This one should be put in a tabular format . Two different tables one representing the distance from teh nodal point and teh otehr one represneting teh no of pizza ordered from that neighbourhood. Also to put it in a graphical model it can be out with a combination of the chart with trend line showing teh distance and column bar showing teh no ofpizza ordered.
