Question
Problem 3. You notice your neighbor has installed a large coil of wire in close proximity to the power line coming into your house (underground cables are not available in your neighborhood) (a) What is the likely intention of your neighbor? (b) Is the plan likely to succeed? Explan. (c) When confronted, your neighbor simply shrugs and claims there's no way it can cost you anything, anyway, since nothing of his is touching anything on your property. True or not? Explain Note: Explain based on theory of transformers and mutual inductance.Explanation / Answer
a)our neighbor plans to get extra electricity from the power line which is coming to House with the help of large coil of wirein close proximity to the power line.
B) the plan is definitely to be fail beacube all the power lines came from generating station to our house were insulated.so ,even though if you place any coil of wire,it doesn't produce electricity by principle of mutual induction. But if the power line hadn't been insulated, then there is a possibility of getting electricity and that to be low because our coil of wire placed in open place.
C)true....because the coil of wire is not yet connected to anything and if so mutual induction phenomenon takes place nothing happens because the wire not yet connected to anything.
