Explanation / Answer

a) Two types of scanning techniques are there, interlaced and progressive techniques.

1) Interlaced scanning- it is a scanning type in which half of the horizontal frame is displayed in one cycle and another half of the frame is in second half. Therefore it requires two cycle to display image, for example 1080i where i is interlaced.

2) Progressive Scanning- progressive scan display each line in sequence to form image. Therefore it send two times much data as compared to interlaced type scanning. For example 1080p full HDTV.

b)

1) for interlaced scanning, as it displays frames in two cycle therefore it takes less bandwidth.

2) progressive scanning reduces flickering which occurs in interlaced scanning.

c) if we consider 1080p means it is a progressive scan type, where, 1080p indicates full HDTV, hence 1920x1080=2073600 which is about 2.1 megapixel. But our requirement is more than 2.2 megapixel. Therefore we can not select it.
