Question
Europa-Danish Cruise line is planning its menu for an upcoming trip. Vacationers like eating beef, crab, and quail. The cruise line has decided to plan for at least half of all booked passengers to have a beef dinner, for at least a quarter of all passengers to have crab, and the rest to have quail. Beef dinners cost the company $11, crab dinners cost $17, and quail dinners cost the line $9. On the next cruise, there are 700 passengers booked. In addition, the cruise line has decided to plan for an additional 25% more total meals than bookings.
Write the linear program to determine how many of each type of dinner Europa-Danish should have available.
Explanation / Answer
Previously 50% for beef and 25% each for crab and quail.
According to this 350 - beef, 175 each for crab and quail. Now they have decided to go for 25% extra than bookings which amounts a total of 875 distributing like ~ 438 for beef rest you can calculate.
Now to build a linear regression equation in R is very simple and I will give you the directions and you will be able to derive any linear regression if know your x and y.
data <- read.csv(“file path”, sep=“”)
fit <- lm(Y~X , data = data)
summary(fit)
After getting the linear regression fit equation we can find the missing values easily
Summary gives us the p value attached to the coefficient to each parameters which helps us to determine the significance of parameter in contributing to our model. High p value means low significance.
Hope this will help. I am not sure why they mentioned the price of each meal. Let me know if I misunderstood something.
