Research is being conducted to determine which sex (males or females) makes the greatest proportionate use of shopping list when doing their grocery shopping. A sample of two thousand females foud eight hundred who use such lists, and a similar sample of one thousand males foud three hundred used shopping list. If the ten percent alpha level was used, and the coputed value was found to be +5.369493, can we safely conclude that a larger percntage of women use grocery shopping list than do men?

for ten percent alpha level and right tailed test critical value of z =1.28

as test statistic 5.369493 is in critical region( higher than 1.28) ; therefore we reject null hypotheiss

and  can safely conclude that a larger percntage of women use grocery shopping list than do men.

This is one tailed(right) test as we are checking if higher percentage of women use grocery shopping list than do men
