a) use the empirical rule : 68% of the data = mean +/- 1*sd
= 1243 +/- 35

b) 95% of the data = mean +/- 2*sd = 1243 +/- (2*35)

c) Almost all the data, ie. 99.7% of the data will be captured within three std. deviations.
