This data comes from an experiment in which each of 10 boys wore shoes with different material, A and B, on the soles of their left and right shoes, respectively, for one month after which the amount of wear for each sole was measured.

a.   Determine if there is a difference between the mean wear amounts of the materials at the 1% level of significance.

b.   Construct a 99% confidence interval for the mean difference in wear amounts for the two materials.

c.   Use the s.d. of the pair differences to determine the sample size needed to estimate the mean difference in wear amounts to within 0.20 with 99% confidence.
