A fish tank that measures 11.8 inches wide, 19.7 inches long, and 15.7 inches deep. It is empty halfway to clean it. To refill it when they done cleaning it, they would use a one gallon jug in the sink carry it to the tank, pout it in and then return to the sink.

The volume of the fish tank is Length* width*depth = 50.038*29.972*39.878 = 59806.58929 = 59806.59 cubic cm = 59.80659 = 59.81 litres ( on rounding off to 2 decimal places; 1 litre = 1000cubic cm.)
The tank is half full so that it needs 1/2* 59.81 litres = 29.905 = 29.91 litres of water to fill it up.(on rounding off to 2 decimal places)
We know that 1 gallon = 3.78541 liters. Therefore, 1 liter = 1/3.78541 = 0.258037214 gallon. Then, 29.91 liters = 29.91*0.258037214 = 7.717893075 = 7.72 gallons (on rounding off to 2 decimal places)
Since the jug carries 1 gallon of watee, it would require 8 trips to the sink to fill up the fish tank
