Explanation / Answer

1. the firms which are in cigar production and in tobacco industry must maintain control on its functionality. There are some standards for productions and combination of some chemical formations. If they produce with an intention of extra kick to the consumers, people will be adicted for those cigars and it will be more dangerous to them. These kind of activities are unethical and unacceptable in nature. The firms must proceed with the standardization production process rather than adaption process. Because, tobacco is the killer of human life, if it still focus on some unethical practices, it will be resulted in more dangerous to the public domain. Hence, the firms must have self control, they must work with business ethics rather than profit oriented.

2. In commercial activities it is common. Most of the companies upgrade their existing products, added with different features, launched in different flavors and increase market share. It is common in consumer durables and electronic goods serctor. But these kind of practices in these industries may or may not give positive results to firm. For example "Nestle-maggy noodles case" in India. Maggi is the largest market holder in noodles market in India. But the past studies reveals that, this item is quoted with more lead than specified content. It gives more smoothness to the product, but cause more digestation problems to the cosumers.
There are some firms and producers, who followed this kind of practices and later corrected themself. But whatever these practices are, all they are unethical, a business firm must run for the sake of all its stakeholders, not any one of them.
