Scenario: You are the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of a small corporation. Due to recent harsh economic times, the corporation will have to make cuts in its current operation. The managers of the Marketing department and the Technology department have been made aware that one of their departments will be asked to cut 30% of their operating budget. How might you use your conflict management skills to gather information, speak with the two department managers, and arrive at a decision regarding cut-backs while minimizing conflict within the company?

Minimize the potential conflict:
Due to the harsh economic times, it is sometimes required to minimize the budget in the organization and designed the decision making process strict to a fixed point. But, to minimize the budget it requires gathering information from the different corners of the entire departments so to find the exact conflict in the work process and it becomes easier for the COO to erase the unnecessary attempt of any disruptions.
