The extemporaneous speech is mostly considered as a perfect balance. It involves the speaker's use of notes and some embellishment to deliver a speech.

In a manuscript speech, the speaker reads every word from a pre-written speech.

Memorized speeches are usually used for shorter speeches. As the name symbolises, they should be memorized thoroughly.
