Explanation / Answer

Although both heredity and environment makes a difference in determining who you are as an adult, I feel that my environment had a greater role to play in discerning my identity in very many ways. I am a single child, raised by overprotective parents which created a lot of compulsiveness in me in many phases of life. It took a great amount of effective study and inner reflection to understand where these traits were coming from in order to change many habits that I had developed because of this. Too much dependency and clinginess was one of the factors that resulted. Some physical traits that resulted through the genetic inheritance are my face cut and body type which is particularly like that of my father’s. It doesn’t take long for strangers to point out that we are a father-daughter duo. Environmental learnings include picking up habits and patterns that were familial- customs, traditional practices, daily rituals, etc.
