Company X selects someone who is weak technically, but very strong in group- process skills, to lead a team in developing a new engineering product. Would such a person be successful as a team leader? What can be done to ensure that the engineering product developed by the team will be satisfactory from the technical standpoint? 12. There is always a difference between managerial and technically strong people.As how much ine would try but at the end he/she is not abl to focus on the both the things. That person may win heart of team quickly or may be during someprojects where group effort is more required than technical skills he may be popular. That manager should be given sound etchnciqla training or in order to ensure satisfactory technical performance the work should be outsourced to strong technical team

Individuals aims of managers and technologically strong people are always different. Managers always want to see betterment, they deal with intra buusiness relations whereas technically stong person would focus on the product which acc to him would lead to success.Cross training should be given to both of the groups, open discussions should be held keeping a mediator to control the discussion if there is outburst

Aluminium is cheaper than steel, cost can one of there reason, which can make the product in turn cheaper. I think considering financial aspect this decision ust have made and both ofthe products have long lasting durability.
