Explanation / Answer

The thing that has impacted me most in my life is the belief of my teachers and parents in me. I have always been someone with low self esteem and low public speaking skills because of which I never participated in any of the extra curricular activites. The first opportunity to recite a poem in my school auditorium in front of hundreds of students was the first time I was doing something like that. My teacher pushed me,motivated me,practiced with me everyday so that I win the competition. I refused initially,I made excuses that I wont be coming to school on that day since I am going out of station but my teacher made sure I participated. I was extremely nervous and blank and thought I had forgotten everything but I dont know how I did it. I just kept looking at my teacher and recited he poem and eventually won the competition. That moment was amazing,it cannot be described in words what I felt and how proud my teacher was. From that day onwards,I made sure I tried everything that would build my confidence. The belief and confidence of my teachers starting from school till college has made me a more confident and positive person now. Maybe not completely outspoken but still the confidence to go up and talk to people.
