Explanation / Answer

Parenting is an art of bringing up children, caring for them, supporting them and helping them fulfill their dreams and destiny. An idea parent needs to attend to the needs of the children, Provide for them, educate them, and expose them to opportunities. One of the primary characteristic of an ideal parent is unconditional love which doesn’t mean negligence to discipline the children. Second one is patience, a parent needs to be patient enough to care and teach the children. Third one is listening empathetically; a parent needs to listen to the children without any assumptions. Fourth character is the ability to provide continuous support. The children need the parent until they become adults, so the parent needs to be there when they need the parent the most. Final characteristic is guiding them. The parent needs to be aware of the child’s behaviors at home and outside, so that the parent can talk to them, correct them and guide them. The parenting style I have explained matches closely to Authoritative Parenting Style. According to this style, the parents while being responsive are also demanding. So the parents take care of the child’s needs but at the same time they set their expectations in terms of behaviors, responsibilities and achievements. I would prepare a scenario based questionnaire that would assess all the characteristics that I mentioned above and only people who complete the questionnaire and score 80% score exhibiting the desired outcomes in the scenario will be given the license.
