Explanation / Answer
1. We often communicate with our immediate others, people often present ourselves differently in different situations. Our personality keeps on changing with the person we intetact with. Whether it is our parents, peers, teachers and significant others. We communicate not only message but ideas, feelings and emotions as well. It also depends with the nature of bond we have with that person. Similarly our personal ideas remain hidden in most of the situations rather it is governed by the situation and the person with whome we interact. As families our communication is guided by emotions, feelings and concern for the person, the communication is less formal and more open in nature. As societies communication is more closed, formal and ethical in nature, we consider society and our obligations towards it.
2. Often people have different ideas about ethics but more or less the convept remains the same. Certain formal codes of conduct while communicating in formal setting remain unchanged. Like use of language(in majority of cases english) remains standard , when interpreting the message people also have understanding to use it contextually. Display rules and use of non verbal cues like eyecontact, body language, hand movements, pauses etc play a very important role in framing the picture clear to the receiver. Nevertheless, it is important to communicate ethically as it should not be a source kf problem to others. The original message should reach right place, right time, right person in right context, only then the communication can be said to have been ethical.
3.the simple message " i love it when you call me" can be understood in a variety of ways:
As words of warmth and compassion, if said with a smile and open arms. While similar words can be assumed to be sarcastic if she looks straight face or angry face.
4. Interpersonal communication is aimed to communicate feelings effectively to others in a more balanced and neutral way. In personal life situation situation sometimes i find it hard to say no. But interpersonal communication is all about being assertive to one's opinion without threatening the self esteem of the receiver of the message. It is definitely legal although might not be ethical in various situations.
