The calculations as follows :

Sand : A ( 2)   B ( 5 ) G ( 10) C ( 16) E ( 23) F ( 31) D ( 36)

Polish :           A ( 6 ) B ( 9) G (17)   C ( 20) E ( 29) F ( 41) D ( 45)

The numbers in parenthesis are the completion time of the relevant project in the relevant job

Thus :

Minimum time to complete sanding operation = 36

Minimum time to complete Polishing operation = 41

Thereore, minimum time required to complete both tasks = 41

However, total duration of all projects in polishing activity = 4 + 3 + 3 + 4 + 6 + 10 + 7 = 37

Therefore , idle time the polishing workcenter will have = 41 – 37 = 4
