Explanation / Answer

1) Brandon could be asked certain questions such as, "What made you so angry at your brother?" or "How would you feel if your brother uses similar words at you?". Questions make a child realise their mistakes as they introspect to answer.

2) The problem could be described on the grounds of hygiene and sharing of house properties. Brandon could be made to understand that having his feet up on the table would spread germs from his feet to the things laid on the table which other members of the house including himself would later use or eat.

Also, he could be explained using a comparative situation such as, "how would you feel if your friend does not respect your books in school? Would you let them step on your things?".

3) When it is time for bed, Brandon could be given limited options so that he could finish those chores and retire for the day. An example of the limited options could be brushing his teeth and washing his face, packing his school bag and reading his bed-time story book.

4) A minimalist approach to discipline could be applied as Brandon needs to learn to value his belongings. He needs to learn to take care of them and place them where it is supposed to be. Also Brandon needs to learn to think about others and realise that his actions have an effect on others as well. Using a minimalist approach, Brandon could be given only a pair of shoes for his daily wear. This would make him value his pair of shoes and he would thereby place them in the correct place and take care of them.
