Question
I’m writing an essay on a quote by Thomas Jefferson that says education is essential for society to survive as “free” people. What psychological effects might withholding education have on a community? What do you think about this comment and how it relates to the psychological effects that bondage has on a person. In this particular case I assume slavery is referenced, being that Jefferson himself was a slave owner and saw first hand the reverse effects of his statement.
