1. In order to gain acceptance of his plan, Kirby should have analysed it better with facts in front of Nancy. He started it well, by saying that he did not appreciate Nancy's gestures at the meeting, however soon his language turned aggressive. This made him deviate from his intentions and thereby his points of view did not come across well. Kirby could have also done some more research on his changed plan, and could have taken a consensus from the other employees and then showed the statistics to Nancy instead of storming into her work space.
2. Kirby should work on himself and groom himself as to how he is behaving with others. In order to have better relationships with Nancy and his other associate, he needs to trust the intentions of others, develop skills of cooperation at work, have a track on his word usage and should treat everyone with respect. This would make him professional and more committed towards the larger goals that would involve the participation of every employee.
3. George Masters would want to know the situation from both Kirby and Nancy's sides. On top of that he would also want to know the proposed changes and check its feasibility and proposed outcome.
4. Kirby needs to be more calm at work and should develop work ethics such as trusting co-workers' intentions, using humble words, not making personal taunts, etc. His own intentions are absolutely correct, however if he does not to deliver it well, then it might be harmful for him.
Nancy in the above situation could have let Kirby share his idea at the meeting and then she could have proposed her own idea too. The members present could have voted for the best idea and the decision made would have been more justified.
Mr. George should listen to both sides of the story and then analyse the situation, keeping the larger goals of the company in mind. He should be careful the one person does not overpower the other on any grounds apart from the feasibility of the proposed plans. He should be careful that no emotional content should be allowed to interfere in his final words.
