Employee retention is a challenge for every HRM whether it is a large corporation or a small one. Recruitment is a lengthy process, training such staff to contribute to the workforce takes a good amount of time and effort on the part of the organization which makes it even more of a necessity for human resource to retain their employees. They do so by allowing the employees incentives and propositions which allow them to feel a sense of a raise. This could include finances, incentives, paid vacations and other valuable rewards. It is necessary to realize not all the employees are the same, what drives one may not necessarily be of as much value for another one. Although, money is the best motivator, combined with the sense of personal growth and achievement in the part of the employees would allow them to be able to stay happier at their current position and omit then becomes easier for the HRM to keep that employer engaged. It is also true for veteran employees and people at a valued position. Reward and sense of achievement combined with better recruitment practices can help separate the valued workers from the others and allow a company to retain them since they had invested into the potential of the said employee.
