Week 3 Forum: Problem Oriented Policing This week, only one post is required, but you may reply to others with feedback if you so choose. The topic for the week is Problem Oriented Policing and the SARA model. Think about some crime or social problem that occurs where you live. Imagine you are the police chief, and the primary decision maker on this problem. How would you use the SARA approach to investigating the issue and working to resolve or mitigate it? Your post should be four paragraphs: Scanning, Analysis, Response, and Assessment. I'll post the first one, as an example You may work in groups on this, if you would like. One person submit the post and let me know who else was in the group.Explanation / Answer
Scanning:
From few days old people in the park are getting harassed in the park when they go for walk in evening. So this has become a concern for the children, and they have filed a complaint against these unknown people who are troubling them in the park.
Analysis:
We will gather the data and see such kind of offense has taken in nearby area
We will make a proper report on it, and a plan will be made to arrest the offenders from the park.
Response:
Few police members and NGO people will be posted near the park and inside the park. However cameras will be put in the park for safety reason.
The offenders wear mask and trouble the people, so in that case any person wearing a mask in the park without any reason will be held for inquiry.
Even other people in the park will be educated to protect and secure these old people if they find them in any trouble.
Assessment:
We will see that plan we made is working properly.
Data will be collected after the planning, and will see what effect has been made after so much of security and educating people.
If the plan is working effectively then it will be continued.
