Afterward he was unaible to close his his right eye or raise his right eyebrow. He has jaw movement but difficulty chewing food and food drooled out his mouth. Which nerve was affected? Explain observed symptoms.Explanation / Answer
The person is exposed to cold climate. He was unable to close his right eye and unable to raise his right eye brow. The muscles of the eye lid are supplied by facial nerve. The muscle responsible for raising the eye brow is frontalis muscle which is supplied by the temporal branch of facial nerve. The muscles of mastication are also supplied by facial nerve. So, he had difficulty in chewing food and food drooled out his mouth. So, the nerve affected here is facial nerve.
