1) The one or two areas regarding understanding or managing diversity in which I am most strong are:
Working in diverse groups helps the team members to understand the values of one another. They come to know the importance of different cultures. This helps them to overcome the preconceived notions and cultural misunderstandings.
The team members should be treated as individuals so that their success is based on merit rather than focusing on their background.
2) The one or two areas of understanding or managing diversity in which I need more improvement are
Setting standards- Objective standards should be set for all so that the policies and procedures are common to all the employees. This is to ensure that the employees feel that they are treated equally. Setting objective standards is a complex task since values and beliefs of different cultures needs to be considered when setting standards.
Communication- The policies, procedures, employee safety rules and regulations and other important information needs to be communicated effectively to overcome language and cultural barriers.
3) If I did only one thing to improve in this area, it would be:
Understanding of different cultures by doing a research on their values and beliefs is pertinent for setting standards. This is an area of improvement that I would do to manage cultural diversity.
4) Making this change would probably result in:
Taking efforts in understanding the diverse cultural values and beliefs would result in positive results. The standards could be set considering all the employee’s values and beliefs without discriminating any employee based on their culture.
5)If I did not change or improve in this area, it would probably affect my personal and professional life in the following ways:

No, none of the questions were difficult to complete than others as I had a clear perspective of my strengths and weaknesses.
7) What did you learn about yourself in this exercise?
I learnt that managing diversity is pertinent for the organizational success to survive in a diverse workplace. Different methods of managing diversity helps me to gain more in-depth perception in handling a diverse workplace.
