Explanation / Answer
Example of how you have responded positively to and acknowledged children’s
a. Efforts and achievements; when children's do something with full of their effort they want it to be noticed and praised. Appraisal or rewarding for their effort will give them motivation and self- confidence for doing something or to complete their task. As their confidence increases they became more capable and self - sufficient to perform a task and do their best for its completion.
Let's take a simple example, suppose your child is making a drawing and you want to respond positively and also want to acknowledge him for his effort, then you must appreciate his work with some special points like that color used for painting different shades of shrubs is too good.
Here, you have specified the point, rather than only appreciating his painting.
b. Varying abilities and confidence in individual children; as every child had some specialty, some can perform good in studies, some are good in game, some of them can give their best in dancing, singing, drama play etc. So, teachers, parents as well as their friends appreciation can give them confidence when they are perform in their area of interest. Children's interest, their performance must be noticed and appreciate them with pinpointed answer like "your that step in dance was mind blowing", but also not to forget to appreciate their whole dance performance.
