Explanation / Answer
Explain what proteins are made out of. Which cellular structure makes proteins?
Proteins are made up with Amino acids. These amino acids are the buliding blocks of proteins. One amino acid binds with other by peptide bond. There is 20 stadard amino acids in living organisms.
The ribsome, it a small microbody with two units, plays an important role in protein synthesis. There is two steps in protein syntheis.
Step I : Synthesis of mRNA from DNA - RNA polymease plays a crucial role here and
Step II: Synthesis of proteins or peptides from mRNA -Ribosomes plays a crucial role here
What does it mean to be denatured? Can humans renature proteins?
The loss of original configuration or disruption of original protein structue is called denaturation. The main reasons for denaturation is applicaiton of exterme temperatures, treatment with strong acid or alkali, reaction with organic solvents or radiation etc.
Humans can not renature the proteins. Because its complex nature.
What tissue type(s) rely heavily on proteins?
Tissues such as connective tissues etc which are made up with fibers, those are hevily relay on proteins.
How are enzymes related to proteins?
Most of the enzymes are made up with amino acids. So, all enzymes are proetins except very few.
