a. Graded Exercise Test is a general screening test used to evaluate the heart’s response to exercise. This test is used mostly for already diagnosed heart patients and mid-aged adults. This test determines the effectiveness of treatment provided by Physician. To determine whether given treatment and adapted life style changes are efficient. To diagnose physical fitness and heart's physiological condition, one of the simple methods and economical tool for most of the people who have sedentary life styles and stress oriented jobs and busy life people.
b. Mile Run Test is for aerobic fitness, muscle endurance and for estimating stamina of athletes and sports persons. To my view, it is probably suitable for the scenario of Police physical fitness tests, army selections. The main advantage is that it can conduct for a large group of athletes at a time and can make selctions based on thier time consumption for the respective defined 1.6km run and by the way economical.
c. 1 mile walk test is a good indicator of aerobic fitness which reflects overall fitness. Almost most of the people's preferable test to estimate their endurance and fitness. During mornings or evenings wherever such as straight roads, parks, walking around blocks are preferable timings and areas. The time taken for completing 1 mile walk and based on age, this test determines the reports. the most disadvantage is lack of self motivation to perform the test by oneself. Right from teenagers to elderly people can test their aerobic fitness. this test is easy to attend, simple, self check oriented and cost less.
d. Minute step test is to determine aerobic as well as cardiac fitness analysis. People who are regular to fitness centres, gyms, water sports e.t.c., can regularly check their progress. The test main principle is to evaluate how quick your heart rate comes to normal after test. majorly to those people who are ready for high altitude mountain climbings, deep sea diving and sports persons, this test is necessary to perform inorder to assess their VO2 max. ( an essential parameter to estimate maximum oxygen consumption and muscle cells uptake). This test regulates heart rate on performing daily basis. simple tool of 12 inch bench, cheaper and ofcourse quite harder to perform.
