Reabsorption: Definition of reabsorption is absorbing back in blood stream what is already secreted in renal tubules. It also called tubular reabsorption. In this process, nephron removes water and solutes from the pre-urine and returns them to the circulating blood. These water and solutes on their way to becoming urine, If nephron wont reabsorb them, they will soon be lost to the urine unless they are reclaimed as reabsorption process.
Reabsorption process takes back useful solutes, glucose and amino acids, salts and water.

Secretion is the process by which substances such as hydrogen ions, potassium (K+), hydrogen (H+), urea, creatinine, and drugs removed from blood through diffusion and osmotic gradients, but in tubular secretion occurs through active transport. In other words, tubular secretion is one of many steps in the process of filtering blood to produce liquid waste in the form of urine. The final product of all these is urine, collection of substances that has not been reabsorbed during glomerular filtration or tubular reabsorbtion.

Renal excretion is the process by which elimination of drugs and their metabolites takes place through kidney. It involves three mechanisms: glomerular filtration, tubular secretion, and passive reabsorption. Unbound drug molecules of less than 20'000 Da are filtered through the glomerulus with the primary urine.
