(Answer) The commonalities for all victims in a post-crisis environment are a feeling of vulnerability, distraught and high levels of stress.
The major difference between disaster victims and victims of an individual crisis is simply that one has the benefit of camaraderie with their fellow victims. Victims of an individual crisis have to make it through difficult times by themselves.
In both cases, the victims probably have family, friends and even government support and compensation to lean on. However, group meetings and nurturing relationships with other victims eliminates the feeling of loneliness. Victims tend to heal better on a psychological level when they feel like they aren’t the only ones going through a certain dilemma. Victims are able to draw courage from each other and make it through a crisis with more ease.
